Direct2 IT Training & Career Program is a combination of three technical training programs. Each program offers a specific set of skills to enable you to enter and or enhance your career. Computer Technician is the first step in the Direct2 IT training & career program. This program provides the skills necessary for an individual to work within support roles in a variety of organisation.

The program provides you with skills & knowledge that comes with 2 internationally recognised industry certifications and a nationally recognised Certificate IV Information Technology - Technical Support.

This program is ideal for those who wish to utilise their new found problem solving skills and enjoy working closely with other people. The computer technician program provides the perfect platform from which to launch your IT career.

The first thing you need is a logical mind which is indicated by your cognitive assessment. You will need a passion for computers and a readiness to learn. No previous knowledge of IT is required to undertake this program.

What are the core modules?
Introduction to Operating Systems
Install, navigate & administer Microsoft operating systems. Partition drives, configure devices and backup/restore the registry.
PC Assembly and Maintenance
Build a computer from scratch & understand the operation of all its components. Install external devices & configure the ports they connect to.
Desktop Support & Windows XP (Microsoft Certified)
Understand the Windows XP operating system & provide support for its users. Support & troubleshoot various applications running on Windows XP, resolve issues with network connectivity, files, folders, printers & other hardware.
PC Troubleshooting and Problem Solving
Learn the best techniques to troubleshoot & repair a faulty computer. Learn to quickly identify both hardware & software faults and network related faults. Understand error messages & use the built in repair tools.

Networking Fundamentals
Introduction to networking with Windows XP in a domain and peer-to-peer environment. Learn to configure TCP/IP and other network protocols. Make your own network cables & use various methods to test that they work.
SS01 - Customer Service & SS02 - Personal Development
Develop communication & negotiation skills to deal with customers face to face & over the telephone. How to deal with difficult people and providing a satisfactory solution for all parties involved. Learn the latest in resume writing, preparation, dress code, office etiquette and how to approach an interview.
